HC Deb 02 May 1955 vol 540 c100W
Mr. Callaghan

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will inquire into the need for a pedestrian crossing near Highcroft, Rumney, on the main Cardiff—Newport Road, in view of the frequent crossings by omnibus passengers and school children.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

My inquiries show that owing to the width of the road and the nature of the traffic there may be a need for some aid to pedestrians here. If the Cardiff City Council, who in the first instance is responsible, cares to propose either a pedestrian crossing or central refuges, I should be glad to go into the possibilities.
