§ 111. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Defence how far it is the policy of Her Majesty's Government in the event of war to restrict the use of bacteriological and chemical weapons, including their use for the purpose of deterrence or retaliation.
§ Mr. H MacmillanSubject to the proviso that they have reserved the right to retaliate in kind against any Power which should first use bacteriological and chemical weapons, Her Majesty's Government are bound by the Geneva Protocol of 1925 which forbids the use of such weapons in war.
