HC Deb 04 March 1955 vol 537 c314W
Mr. Thornton

asked the President of the Board of Trade values of United Kingdom exports to India of manufactured goods carrying an import duty of less than 60 per cent., and manufactured goods carrying a duty of 60 per cent. and more, respectively.

Mr. P. Thomeycroft

The total value of exports to India of manufactured goods (class D of the Trade Account classification) in 1954 was £95 million. I estimate that about nine-tenths of these exports carried a duty of less than 60 per cent.
