§ 77. Mr. Rentonasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the newly-appointed superintendent Methodist minister for Huntingdonshire is being compelled to share his telephone line with another subscriber, whereas his predecessor did not have to share; and whether, in view of the confidential nature of many of the conversations which the minister has to conduct, he will ensure that he does not have to share the line with another subscriber.
Dr. HillI am afraid that the decision must be maintained. We have avoided asking the minister to share for as long as we could but it is now the only way in which we can give telephone service to an applicant in the neighbourhood.
