§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI learned with regret of the fatal accident which occurred on 2nd June. I am prepared to make a grant this year towards an improvement at Kirkfieldbankbrae, involving a diversion and new bridge over the River Clyde, and I have invited the Lanark County Council to submit a scheme to me. It should be possible for work to start in the autumn and for it to be completed about eighteen months after commencement.
