§ 70. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that all vehicles entering Kumasi are being searched; and whether he will make a statement upon the disturbed conditions in Ashanti.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI have no information on the searching of vehicles entering Kumasi, but the police are taking all necessary steps with commendable patience and efficiency to maintain law and order in Ashanti. I am sure the House will share my hope that the people of the Gold Coast will speedily resolve the political disputes which have led to such disorders as have already occurred.
