37. Brigadier Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for War what representations he has had regarding the effect on Army widows' pensions due to previous commutations of pension by their husbands; and what action he is taking.
§ Mr. HeadI have received representations that the rule in this matter which affects only a very few widows is out-of-date and should be abolished. We and the other Departments are giving this suggestion sympathetic consideration. If my hon. and gallant Friend will let me have details of any particular case he has in mind, I will look into it.
