asked the Minister of Labour whether he can yet make a statement about the terms of reference and the composition of the Committee of Inquiry into the working of the Dock Labour Scheme.

I informed the House on 21st April that I had decided to set up a Committee to inquiry into the working of the Dock Labour Scheme. The Committee has now been appointed with the following terms of referenceTo inquire into the working of the Dock Labour Scheme and to advise what alterations, if any, should be made in the terms of the Scheme. The Chairman of the Committee will be the Hon. Mr. Justice Devlin, and the other members of the Committee will be Mr. J. A. Birch, Sir Frederick Rees, Professor J. G. Smith, and Mr. A. B. Waring.
