§ Mr. Nabarroasked the Minister of Fuel and Power how much imported foreign coal will be consumed by the Central Electricity Authority power stations this year out of the total consumption of 44 million tons of coal for public electricity generation; how far the Central Electricity Authority will import foreign coal direct paying the full economic price and how far the National Coal Board will carry the loss of £2 per ton.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydThe Authority is expected to consume about five million tons of imported foreign coal during 1955. The National Coal Board will make all the purchases abroad and spread the extra cost over all consumers.
