§ Sir A. Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will institute a campaign to reduce the number of fires on isolated farms through 167W careless smoking by farm-workers or visitors, burning rubbish, and faulty electrical equipment and installations; and if he will advertise the desirability of regular inspection of old wiring installations which the electricity boards undertake at a reasonable fee.
Mr. AmoryThese points are all stressed in my Department's leaflet "Fire Prevention on Farms," a copy of which I am sending my hon. Friend. Another appeal for care in preventing fires in the countryside is about to be made; and I hope that the Press and the B.B.C. will continue to give this subject the publicity which has been so valuable in the past.
