Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health what percentage of the total beds were allocated for Section 5 paying patients in teaching and other hospitals, respectively, during each of the last five years.

The following table expresses the number of beds designated under Section 5 of the National Health Service Act, 1946, as a percentage of the total bed complement in each case (excluding beds shut owing to lack of staff):
