HL Deb 06 July 1955 vol 193 c524WA
LORD BROUGHSHANE

asked Her Majesty's Government whether they will arrange for the issuance of air mail letter forms similar to those in current use in the U.S.A. which latter, as regards ease of opening, fastening, shape and quality of paper, appear to be greatly superior to those issued by the G.P.O.

LORD FAIRFAX OF CAMERON

In designing an air mail letter form it is necessary to strike a fair balance between a number of different requirements, such as quality, weight, and privacy. Her Majesty's Government believe that the British form fairly balances these claims.

House adjourned at half past six o'clock.
