Mr. Farey-Jonesasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware of the availability of pet-coke in the production of smokeless fuels; and whether, in view of the success of its utilisation in the industrial cities in the United States of America, he will take steps to expedite its use in this country.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydPet-coke can be imported under an open general licence, but it seems unlikely that in this country it could be used to produce smokeless fuel at an economic cost.
