§ 69. Mr. Godberasked the Minister of Education what steps he is taking to increase the number of places in special schools for educationally sub-normal children.
§ Mr. VosperProjects already in hand or due to be started in the coming year (1955–56) will provide more than 5,500 special school places for educationally sub-normal children. A further 2,300 such places are in course of provision through minor works. When my right hon. Friend recently asked authorities for their building proposals for 1956–57 he drew attention to the need for more special schools for these: children, particularly new day schools.
