§ 85. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the difficulties of an engineering firm in Aberdeen, details of which have been sent to him, which are due to a shortage of steel in this country; and if he will issue a licence to this firm to enable them to import steel so that they may comply with orders for the export of agricultural machines to Nyasaland and Burma.
§ Mr. LowNo application for such an import licence has been made by the firm to which the hon. and learned Member refers. I should expect a licence to be granted if an application were made.
