Mr. Pageasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, having regard to the several Departments concerned, he will appoint a committee to inquire into the effect of the proposed closure of the. Liverpool overhead rail way, upon the adequate supply of labour to the Liverpool docks, the efficient handling of the import and export trade at these docks, the safety and flow of goods and passenger traffic on the roads around those docks, the maintenance of work upon Admiralty contracts being carried out there, the continuance of contracts within the purview of the Ministry of Supply, and other relevant matters, and to make recommendations to overcome any difficulties.
