§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe Government's policy is to foster production and to keep a proper balance in our internal economy so as to encourage and assist exporters to maintain and increase the considerable efforts they are already making. At the same time our external policies are directed towards promoting the expansion of international trade as a whole. Of course, the volume of U.K. exports has increased steadily over the last three years.
