asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will give an approximate estimate of the amount of sulphur oxides produced on complete combustion of an equal weight of coal, coke, and the principal varieties of smokeless fuels now on sale.

For coal, coke and other manufactured smokeless fuels about 3 per cent. by weight, and for anthracite rather less.
