§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftSupplies to home consumers of the types of paper normally used for printing were 1,916,000 tons for the 12 months ending 31st August, 1939, and 1,546,000 tons in 1954. Within these totals, comparable figures for newsprint are 1,243,000 tons and 811,000 tons.
