§ Mr. Gowerasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is yet in a position to make a statement on the subject of copyright, with particular reference to the Report of the Copyright Committee.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftI am glad to be able to inform my hon. Friend that a Bill dealing with some of the more urgent aspects of this subject has been introduced in another place. The Government accept, with minor modifications, the Report of the Committee and intend to introduce a comprehensive Bill to amend the law on the general lines of the Committee's rcommendations as soon as practicable. It will not, however, be possible to do this during the present Session.
