HC Deb 11 February 1955 vol 536 cc260-1W
Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Works why no atomic plant has yet been erected in Wales; what survey for a site his Department has conducted; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Birch

Surveys were made in Wales before the sites for several of the existing atomic energy establishments were determined, but on no occasion was a site found which was suitable in all respects. Should the Atomic Energy Authority require to build a new establishment, any sites in Wales which may satisfy the technical requirements will be considered.
