§ Mr. Snowasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance why National Assistance payable to the possessor of book AB 34—177811 is to be reduced, as from 2nd May next, from £1 to 12s. 6d.
§ Brigadier SmythThis Assistance grant is being paid in supplementation of a retirement pension and, as from the week commencing 25th April, the retirement pension will be increased by 7s. 6d. I am, however, informed by the National Assistance Board that it will be from that date, not 2nd May, that the Assistance will have to be reduced.
