§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeIn 1953–54 Government grants totalling £22,108 were paid to the National Association of Discharged Prisoners' Aid Societies and its affiliated societies. Under the revised scheme of grants proposed by the Committee on Discharged Prisoners' Aid Societies in 1953, provision has been made for payment during the current year of grants of about £34,500.
