asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what measures are planned for the development of broadcasting in Tanganyika.

The present low-power transmissions from Dar es Salaam will be supplemented in May by a new 20kw station covering most of Tanganyika. It is planned to set up regional stations subsequently.
