HC Deb 02 February 1955 vol 536 c105W
11. Commander Maitland

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what progress he has made in improving postal communications between the island of Jersey and France.

Mr. Gammans

Since I last wrote to my hon. and gallant Friend the postal services between Jersey and France have been improved, with the result that letters for many places are now delivered a day earlier than they used to be. We are considering what further improvements we can make, but the situation is complex and may require legislation: I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
