HC Deb 21 December 1955 vol 547 c316W
Mr. Lucas

asked the Postmaster-General by what time the first delivery of letters in Brentford and Chiswick should normally be completed; whether he is aware that in some cases addressees have not, in recent months, been receiving the first mail until well after 9.0 a.m.; and whether he will consider what steps can be taken in the new year to speed up the first delivery of letters in this postal area.

Dr. Hill

The first delivery is due to finish in Brentford at 9.15 a.m. and in Chiswick at 9 a.m., but owing to shortage of staff, sick absence and late mails it has not been possible to complete all the deliveries to time. We shall continue to do all we can to eliminate these delays.
