51. Mr. Zilliacus

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that the fact that the British Transport Commission recently placed orders for diesel locomotives with private firms has aroused widespread anxiety among the personnel of British Railways workshops; and whether he will issue a general direction to the British Transport Commission to grant priority on equal terms to British Railways workshops in the placing of such orders.
