asked the Minister of Works what inquiry was made into the recent fire at the Admiralty; what was the cause; and what was the total cost of the damage.

Mr. Birch

Investigations by officers of my Department are still in progress and it is not yet possible to state the cause. The total cost of the damage is provisionally estimated at between £20,000 and £30,000.
