asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what reply he gave to the most recent representations from the Liverpool Corporation on the subject of the future of the Liverpool Overhead Railway.

I recently saw a deputation which included, among others, some representatives of the Liverpool City Council. I informed the deputation that as this matter was shortly to come before Parliament as the result of the promotion of a Private Bill by the proprietors of the railway, I did not feel that it would be appropriate for me to take any action at this stage.
