§ 82. Mr. Willeyasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make a statement on the arrangements he has made for the importation of canned salmon from Japan.
§ Mr. LowApplications for import licences have now been invited in respect of the first instalment of about two-thirds of the total quota of £4.72 million c.i.f. established by the arrangements concluded with Japan in October. The closing date for applications is the 22nd December and licences will be issued shortly thereafter. It is hoped that it will be possible to issue licences for the second instalment in March or early April, 1956.
