§ 92. Mr. K. Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what restrictions are placed upon British subjects temporarily resident in Spain with regard to visits to Gibraltar; and what representations he has made in this connection.
§ Mr. TurtonNo restriction is placed upon British visitors to Spain who have Spanish visas valid for three months and for three entrances and exits, other than that imposed by such conditions. British subjects who work in Gibraltar and reside in the adjacent Campo area of Spain must be in possession of a worker's pass issued by the Spanish authorities. Other British subjects residing in Spain must, like other foreign residents and Spanish citizens, apply to the Spanish authorities for an exit visa when they wish to leave Spain. Such exit visas are normally issued without difficulty and are valid for travel to any destination.
132WThere have however been cases of British subjects meeting with difficulties when they applied for such visas for the express purpose of visiting Gibraltar. These cases have been taken up with the appropriate authority as they arose and Her Majesty's Ambassador at Madrid has on two occasions recently brought this to the attention of the Spanish Government.
