§ Mr. Pageasked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what expenditure there was by the United Kingdom Government upon technical assistance and upon equipment for training and research institutes in Ceylon during the past twelve months; and if he will state the main projects involved.
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerDuring the last twelve months the United Kingdom Government has spent £140,000 on technical assistance to Ceylon. Of this amount £30,000 was for equipment for training and research institutes. The main projects were the equipment of 123 secondary school workshops and of a forest research laboratory.
