Captain Kerbyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the nature of the different procedures in use in his Department designed to deal with security and/or disciplinary cases amongst established and temporary Foreign Office/Service officers suspected or known to be guilty of such lapses; and how these special procedures were applied in the cases of Messrs. Maclean and Burgess before they made good their escape.
