§ Mr. Iain Macleod:The type of infection is not severe and the incidence of complications is not high. Cases notified in 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1954 numbered 3,116, 2,625, 1837 and 33 respectively, and in the period 1st January to 21st April, 1955, 2,021.
