asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the fall in tillage acreage for 1954 as compared with 1953.

Mr. Amory:

The June census return 1954 shows that the tillage area (crops and bare fallow) in the United Kingdom fell by 472,000 acres as compared with June, 1953.
