§ 29. Mr. W. Stewardasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he has taken to relieve the congestion in certain of the Metropolitan magistrates' courts.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeI came to the conclusion that the most effective and economical way of providing relief would be the appointment of an additional Metropolitan magistrate to sit in the spare court room at Clerkenwell Court. This second court at Clerkenwell will be opened on 25th April, and at the same time there will come into force an alteration in the court boundaries in favour of the courts that are most pressed.
