The Government accept in full the committee's recommendations for the continuation of censuses of production and distribution. A number of changes in census procedure are suggested to reduce the burden on the business community and improve the effectiveness of the censuses, and these will be brought into operation as soon as practicable.
Her Majesty's Government wish to express their gratitude to the members of the committee for producing such a valuable and constructive Report, which we hope will be accepted by industry and trade generally.
