HC Deb 25 October 1954 vol 531 c212W
Mr. Turner-Samuels

asked the Attorney-General whether he is aware of the need, due to recent legislation such as the Housing Repairs and Rents Act, and the Landlord and Tenant Act, for the full implementation of the Legal Aid and Advice Act passed in 1949; and if he will now take the necessary steps to introduce legal aid and advice in all cases and matters coming within the jurisdiction of the county courts and magistrates' courts.

The Attorney-General

The question of extending the application of the Legal Aid and Advice Act is receiving the close consideration of my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor, but I am not yet in a position to make a statement.
