§ 137. Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenportasked the Minister of Food when he proposes to make new regulations under Section 2 of the Slaughter of Animals (Amendment) Act for the purpose of securing humane conditions and practices in connection with the slaughter of animals in slaughterhouses and knackers' yards; whether he will draft these regula- 191W tions so as to deal with the conditions under which the ritual slaughter of animals for human consumption in such places is still to be permitted; and what procedure will be adopted for consultation about such new regulations with the experts and interested organisations concerned.
Mr. AmoryProposals for regulations including the ritual slaughter of animals were circulated for comment to the organisations concerned on 30th September and it is hoped to make regulations by the end of November.
