HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 c157W
Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Minister of Health to consider the work done by the Caernarvonshire, Anglesey and Merioneth Tubercular Aid Society to rehabilitate tuberculars through the provision of suitable work, with a view to encouraging the establishment of small workshops and factories for tuberculars in the three counties, analogous to the Manton Factory, Caernarvon.

Mr. Iain Macleod

Local health authorities can, with my approval, contribute to a voluntary organisation providing care and after care for the tuberculous which may include the provision of suitable employment; alternatively, financial assistance in providing employment might be available through my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act, 1944.
