asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken to provide an Asian hostel for seamen in the Port of Singapore.

A site has been selected, funds have been allocated and a Bill has been prepared providing for the incorporation of a Centre for Asian seamen and the appointment of a committee to prepare plans for a hostel and administer it when built.
