HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 c128W
60. Mrs. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what are the maximum statutory hours of work of lorry drivers in Cyprus.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The hours of work of lorry drivers in Cyprus are not at present limited by law, but the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Bill, which it is hoped to enact before the end of the year, makes provision for fixing rest periods and maximum hours of work. It is intended to make regulations on these matters as soon as the Bill is enacted.
