§ Mr. Swinglerasked the President of the Board of Trade to now reconsider the membership of the Selection Committee appointed by him in connection with Section 5 (2) of the Cinematograph Films Act, 1948, in view of the fact that only one sectional interest in the industry is at present represented thereon.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftThe Selection Committee contains seven independent members and, at present, two members unconnected with the major circuits but experienced in exhibiting and booking films. I do not consider it desirable to add to the Committee representatives of producers or distributors who are, of course, the persons who make the applications upon which the Board of Trade is required to seek the advice of this Committee.
