HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 c144W
119. Mr. Collins

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make arrangements to send representatives to Sweden and, in particular, to Stockholm, to inspect deep shelters and other methods of defence against atomic attack.

Major Lloyd-George

A member of the Home Office staff visited Sweden two years ago and was given facilities for studying Swedish civil defence plans. I do not think the time is yet ripe for a further visit, but Her Majesty's Government is kept fully informed of the progress of Civil Defence measures in Sweden. The physical conditions in the two countries are of course quite different.
