HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 c151W
Mr. Holt

asked the Minister of Food if he will state what are the stocks held by his Department of Australian Lexia raisins and Thompson's seedless raisins; what was the average price paid for them; how he proposes to dispose of the stocks; and whether in doing so he expects to incur any loss.

Mr. Amory

My Department holds no stock of Australian Lexia raisins. It would be contrary to commercial practice to disclose the quantity of Californian Thompson's raisins still to be sold or the price paid for them. The raisins are being sold through the normal trade channels and, until the sale has been completed, it is not possible to state the results of the trading.
