§ 77. Mr. Hayasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, what research is taking place by the Medical Research Council or other investigators into the relationship between spondelytis and iritis; and whether any new treatment can be envisaged in the near future.
§ Mr. BevinsResearch is at present in progress in one of the Medical Research Council's Units on the conditions under which iritis occurs in association with spondylitis. We cannot expect results for some time and no new treatment has, as yet, been discovered.
