§ 98. Mr. Goochasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the 95W large increase in the number of accidents on farms, following the great extension in the mechanisation of farming; and what steps he is taking to minimise the risk to which the men who handle the machines are exposed.
§ Mr. NugentComparative statistics are not available to show whether the number of accidents from machines on farms has increased in recent years. My Department is actively studying the question of accident prevention. A general leaflet on the prevention of machinery accidents has just been revised, and further detailed leaflets are now in course of preparation.
