Mr. Odeyasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, in view of the fact that the latest proposals for a trunk road through Beverley would involve the destruction of 70 houses, he will produce an alternative plan which would avoid the town of Beverley and have greater regard to road safety.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterSeveral alternative lines are under consideration for the by-pass of the trunk road at Beverley, and I have not yet reached any final conclusions. In doing so, I shall have due regard to road safety and to the62W desirability of avoiding demolition so far as may be compatible with an effective scheme.
