§ Dr. Kingasked the Minister of Education if he will publish a table, similar to that which he published for 1952, showing the number of university awards made by local education authorities for 1953 and the number per 10,000 child population.
§ Sir D. EcclesThere were 9,928 local education authority awards taken up at universities for the first time in 1953–54. This is an average of 16.5 awards per 10,000 of that part of the population between the ages of five and 14. I am sending the hon. Member a table giving these figures for each local education authority separately.
