Mr. Watkinsasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what provision is made by his Regulations for members of the Association of Parish Councils or of parish councils to be nominated to the panel of local authorities from whom members may be appointed to consultative councils under the Electricity Act, 1947; and whether either of these two bodies may nominate members to serve on the sub-area committees.

As to the second part, local or district committees are appointed by the consultative councils themselves and not by me. Requests for representation for parish councils, or any other interest, would, therefore, be for the consultative councils themselves to consider in the light of the various claims to representation on the committees.
